“The Atlanta Women’s Chorus proudly presents our final concert of our celebratory 10th year season: “Phoenix Rising!”
Performing at the Aurora Theater in downtown Lawrenceville, June 1st at 2pm and again at 7pm.
In this concert, the AWC explores through dynamic treble choral music what it means to call Atlanta home. From the Native Americans that called this area home, the Civil War, the Civil Rights Movement, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy, and gay rights, to classical, popular and hip-hop music that has been derived here – there is so much that makes Atlanta a rich and diverse city! Come experience it all in this very special show.”
Ages: Okay for all ages but could be best for older children because of the themes addressing historical issues.
