DIY Giant Ice Marbles

Create beautiful ice marbles that will brighten your yard.

Looking for a fun, free, and easy way to enjoy the cold weather? This colorful activity is perfect for adding a little magic to your winter days.

All you need are balloons, water, and food coloring to create beautiful ice marbles that brighten any yard.

❄️ Ingredients:

  • Balloons
  • Food coloring
  • A faucet with running water

❄️ Instructions:

  1. Invite your child to add several drops of food coloring into the balloon while an adult holds it.
  2. Place the balloon over the faucet and fill it with water, being careful not to overfill to prevent popping and colorful splattering.
  3. Securely tie off the balloon, releasing as much air as possible.
  4. Gently shake the balloons to evenly distribute the food coloring.

❄️ Place them outside for 12-24 hours to freeze.

Once frozen, carefully peel off the balloons and unleash your creativity by decorating your yard with these vibrant ice marbles. For easy cleanup, wear disposable gloves during the peeling process to avoid food coloring stains. This activity is perfect for all ages with adult supervision, adding a burst of color to your winter landscape on a chilly day.
