Ongoing: Gwinnett’s Dog Day Out program

“Make a difference in the lives of animals

Gwinnett’s Dog Day Out program provides tail-wagging fun for shelter dogs and animal lovers. Local organizations, businesses, and service clubs can help socialize adoptable dogs by taking them on an outdoor adventure at Rhodes Jordan Park in Lawrenceville, improving their chances of finding a forever home. To bring some sunshine into a shelter dog’s day, email [email protected].

The Bill Atkinson Animal Welfare Center is also seeking volunteer foster homes to provide temporary care for shelter animals in need. If you’re unable to foster, consider volunteering onsite to help exercise and socialize adoptable animals and support the center’s mission. Learn more at VolunteerGwinnett.net .”

Traveling Soon?

Get creative and spread joy with cheerful drawings, coloring pages, and thank-you cards to brighten up your tip for servers.

It’s an easy and fun way to show your kindness. Take some time while on the road to whip up a bunch of colorful thank-you notes (you can pick up a pack at the dollar store). Then, surprise your server, bus driver, or anyone who adds a little extra happiness to your travel days by leaving one of these cards. An easy way to make their day a little brighter!

Ongoing: Volunteer with the Wrapped In Love Foster Closet

“You can make a difference by helping children in foster care, meeting people who share your interests, and making a positive impact in your community. We do not offer community service hours and drop-ins.

Volunteer work day consists of moving replenishing items that are low, sorting of clothing (separate them by season, gender and size ), and hanging up clothes on the clothing racks. In addition we may need help volunteering at some of our local partners on behalf of the organization.

If you do not see an upcoming date, please be patient and check back in a few weeks. All volunteers commit to going through a criminal background check.

Some volunteers reach out to churches, schools, businesses, and other organizations encouraging them to do a drive or make a financial donation.

Adults that have time and passion for a monthly commitment are welcome to take the steps to join our volunteer team. Do these 3 things now: Follow us on Facebook , read everything on our website including the work we do in the community and join us to volunteer .”
